Business Mentorship for Psychoanalytic Therapists
Helping psychoanalytic therapists grow sustainable private practices with depth, integrity, and strategic marketing.
You don’t have to choose between being a serious clinician and running a successful business.
Most psychoanalytic therapists receive little to no training in how to build a financially and emotionally sustainable practice. We dedicate years to developing our clinical minds but rarely have spaces to think deeply about how to create a practice that truly supports us, especially when we dream of doing more than just 1:1 clinical work.
The lack of transparency in our field around fees, business models, and sustainability can leave us feeling lost, overworked, and unsure how to move forward.
We are often told that if we do good quality work, referrals will just come. And I get it, you became a therapist to help people, not to master sales and marketing.
But the reality is, building a thriving, long-term practice requires both clinical depth and a strategic, intentional approach to business. We can’t leave to chance our vision for ourselves and our careers.
That’s where this mentorship comes in. Designed for analytically-oriented therapists, it offers a space to meaningfully engage in the business side of your work, develop thought leadership, and market yourself with sophistication, all without sacrificing your integrity or analytic sensibility.
“I thought it would take me years to make the income I made six months into working with Thaís. So much of it is because I feel like I don’t have to hold all of the hard stuff that comes up in my business by myself. Getting support allows me to support others in such a better way.”
A psychoanalytic lens on business.
Just as the unconscious shapes our clinical work, it also shapes how we approach money, marketing, and expansion. Without a space to explore this, we risk reenacting old patterns, undercharging, overworking, avoiding visibility, or struggling to take up space in ways that serve us. This mentorship offers a psychoanalytic container to examine the hidden forces shaping your business, so you can make choices with more awareness and agency.
Navigating client projections.
Our clients will have thoughts and feelings about how you market yourself, set fees, and position your practice. These reactions can evoke guilt, self-doubt, or resistance. Rather than shying away from these complexities, we will explore how these dynamics show up in your clinical work, so you can move through them with clarity and confidence.
No cookie-cutter solutions.
We won’t be offering formulaic templates or one-size-fits-all marketing strategies. Instead, you’ll learn to find your unique voice and integrate it into everything you do, from your website to your writing to the way you talk about your work.
A focus on sustainability.
This isn’t just about getting more patients, it’s about creating a practice that supports you long-term, without burnout or resentment. We’ll explore what sustainability looks like for you and how to structure your business accordingly.
An intimate, personalized approach.
With just 4-6 participants, this mentorship allows for deep engagement, personalized attention, and thoughtful feedback. Beyond my guidance, you’ll benefit from the collective insights of fellow analytically-minded therapists, building a network of support as you navigate these complex questions.
This mentorship program is, as far as I can tell, the only psychoanalytic business mentorship available, designed specifically for therapists who want to build private practices that stand out. Whether you’re just getting started or refining an existing practice, we’ll work together to build a business that aligns with your deepest professional values—one that is both financially and emotionally sustainable.
Here’s why this mentorship stands apart from others:
Together, we will focus on building the practice and thought leadership you desire. No more guessing or wondering what works or what doesn’t. No more hoping your supervisor will give you business support. No more feeling so terribly alone.
Here are a few (non-exhaustive) topics that we cover:
Marketing
Define who you want to attract to your practice and how to connect with them.
Craft authentic, thoughtful marketing strategies that reflect your unique approach and resonate with your ideal clients.
Branding
Discover who you are as a professional and how to communicate that effectively to the world. We’ll work on your professional identity and how to express it across all platforms.
Website
Ensure that your website reflects you and attracts the right clients. We’ll dive into how to present yourself online in a way that matches your therapeutic style and values.
Social Media
Identify the best (if any) social media channels for your practice and create content consistently. Learn how to engage with your audience authentically and professionally.
Goals
Set clear, actionable goals for your practice and business. Together, we’ll create a road map that’s both aspirational and achievable.
Accountability
Stay on track with the work you need to get done. With weekly meetings and Voxer support, you’ll have the guidance and accountability to move forward and grow your practice.
Hiring
Find great people and learn to delegate responsibilities. Whether you're thinking about hiring an office manager or a clinical associate, we’ll discuss the logistics and best practices.
Leadership
Develop your leadership skills and align your motivations with your practice’s goals. We’ll explore how to rally a team (if you choose to build one) and lead with confidence.
Future Growth
Explore additional revenue streams in an ethical, thoughtful way, whether through writing, teaching, workshops, supervision, or consulting, while navigating the unconscious dynamics that come with expanding your work.
“The mentorship has been a game-changer. It’s not about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. Thaís guided me to find my own voice, aligning my practice with my values and ambitions. I feel more confident in my business decisions, and for the first time, I can see how to build a practice that not only supports my clients but also sustains me.”
Who This Mentorship Is For:
Analytically-oriented therapists who want to build a private practice that reflects their depth of thought and clinical values, rather than relying on formulaic business strategies.
Therapists who feel conflicted about ambition—who have internalized the idea that marketing and business growth aren’t “analytic” but still feel drawn to expanding their reach and impact.
Therapists who are curious about the unconscious forces shaping their relationship to money, visibility, and professional identity—and want a space to explore these dynamics with depth and nuance.
Those looking to expand beyond the consulting room—whether through workshops, writing, teaching, supervision, or other creative endeavors—but who struggle with how to step into those roles with confidence.
Early-career and mid-career therapists who want to grow their practice thoughtfully and sustainably, without compromising their analytic sensibility.
Therapists who feel overwhelmed by marketing and branding but know they need to engage with these areas to create a practice that supports them both financially and emotionally.
Clinicians who want a long-term, relational approach to business and marketing—who understand that building a meaningful career is not about quick fixes but about deep, strategic, and sustainable growth.
Who I Am & Why I’m Qualified to Help You:
Hi, I’m Thaís, and I’m here to help analytically-oriented therapists like you build thriving, sustainable private practices that align with your values.
I’ve walked this path myself: after earning my undergraduate degree in business, I grew a successful six-figure coaching business before pursuing a Master's in Clinical Psychology with a focus on psychoanalysis. Since then, I’ve built a cash-based private practice and have learned what it takes to grow a business that aligns with both professional values and personal sustainability.
But what makes me uniquely qualified to guide you is that I built everything I know from the ground up—editing my own podcast, building my own website, and navigating every aspect of marketing, sales, and business operations myself. I didn’t outsource these things; I learned them intimately. That means I know exactly what it takes to build a private practice, scale to a group practice, and grow a personal brand—because I’ve done it all firsthand.
Beyond my own experience, I’ve spent over a decade mentoring practitioners and entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the complexities of growth, visibility, and sustainability. I know the ins and outs of what it takes—not just to start, but to evolve and expand in a way that’s financially and emotionally viable.
I’m passionate about working with therapists who want more than just a clinical practice—they want to develop a broader presence and build visibility in a way that feels authentic. But I also know that balancing business growth with self-care and sustainability is the key to long-term success. That’s why I created this mentorship program: to guide therapists through the process of developing a practice that’s aligned, sustainable, and financially rewarding.
If you’re a psychoanalytic therapist who wants to build a practice that aligns with your values and creates a sustainable future, let’s talk. This is an opportunity for you to move beyond just clinical work and create a thoughtful, professional presence that supports your long-term goals.

FAQs
-
Supervision focuses on clinical work, and traditional business coaching often applies generic, one-size-fits-all strategies. This mentorship bridges the gap in that it’s the only psychoanalytic business mentorship available, helping you integrate your deep clinical expertise with a thoughtful, sustainable business strategy.
-
That’s exactly what this mentorship is for. You don’t need to have it all figured out, you just need to be open to exploring what growth looks like for you, whether that means refining your private practice, expanding into writing, teaching, or developing an online presence.
-
Aside from the six month initial commitment, there’s no set timeline! Thought I will say that most participants find it beneficial to stay in the mentorship for a longer period of time to really make the most out of this unique space.
-
Absolutely. You don’t need to be an expert in websites, social media, or online marketing. I built everything in my business from the ground up, and I can help you develop a relationship with these tools that feels manageable and aligned with your skills.

You don’t need formal psychoanalytic training to join this mentorship program. If you're a clinician who is psychoanalytically curious and open to applying psychoanalytic concepts to both your clinical work and business, you will fit right in. This program is designed for clinicians who are drawn to psychoanalysis and want to explore how these principles can be integrated into their practice and their approach to business growth.
Whether you're new to psychoanalysis or have a more casual interest, as long as you're committed to exploring depth-oriented thinking and unconscious dynamics in both your clinical and business practices, this space is for you. The goal is to foster a community of clinicians who are curious, reflective, and open to developing a business that aligns with their deeper professional values. If you're ready to learn how psychoanalytic concepts can enrich both your practice and your business approach, you'll find plenty of support and growth here.
