My name is Thaís
Whether you are looking for support around the worthiness wound®, complex trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relational difficulties and/or other deeply entrenched inner struggles, I am here to help you get to the heart of matter so you may feel more free.
My story.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, and immigrating to the United States as a child, I experienced a profound transition that sparked a lifelong quest for understanding my place in the world. From an early age, I yearned to grasp the meaning of life and my role within it.
In the first decade of my career as a yoga teacher and somatic-focused coach, I dedicated myself to helping individuals cultivate radical self-acceptance and create nurturing inner spaces. I supported countless women in navigating the challenges of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and an idea I conceptualized called the worthiness wound®.
As my practice evolved, I became increasingly disillusioned with the limitations of self-help, pop psychology, and other behavioral-focused approaches. These methods often fail to address deeper trauma and entrenched patterns, leaving individuals on a perpetual self-improvement treadmill. I knew there had to be a more profound, lasting approach to healing.
This led me to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Psychology with a focus on trauma and depth psychology, followed by five years of advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Through this rigorous, evidence-based approach, I discovered a robust philosphy for fostering long-term psychological change.
I work with the tender-hearted.
As a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and groups, and through my podcast, teachings, and writings, I am committed to helping people uncover the root of their challenges, deepen their self-understanding, and embrace the freedom that comes from becoming more fully themselves.
I am delighted to share this path with you.

Prior to being a therapist, I was a 200hr certified vinyasa yoga teacher and have taught yoga, meditation and mindfulness for over five years. Through these modalities I have developed a body of knowledge of somatic healing that informs my work to this day.
I worked at two leading Los Angeles community mental health clinics (Airport Marina Counseling Service and WILA) working with a wide range of populations, life stages and issues.
For the duration of the pandemic, I worked as a volunteer therapist at Teen Line, a hotline for teens in crisis.
I am currently a clinical supervisor at Valley Community Counseling Clinic.
At the end of the day…
Transformation isn’t about chasing happiness or eliminating struggle, it’s about developing a deep, unwavering sense of self that can withstand life’s inevitable ups and downs. It takes courage to turn inward, to gently explore the places that feel most painful, but in doing so, we uncover something profound: a more expansive, grounded, and authentic self.
My approach is kind, direct and open. I don’t offer quick fixes or surface-level solutions, but I do provide a space where we can be earnest about what’s keeping you stuck. Through this work, you’ll develop the internal steadiness to move through challenges with clarity and self-trust. You’ll no longer have to contort yourself to meet external expectations, you’ll begin making choices that feel truly aligned with who you are.
What a wonderful gift to give yourself.
