Guest Featured On This Episode

ELISABETH LILJA

Elisabeth is a humxn, therapist, and yoga instructor based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Elisabeth’s work  is centered around re-inviting or inviting connection. She believes each of us have lived experiences that leave imprints on our lives sometimes impacting our ability to trust, and connect with ourselves, and those around us.

For over 17-years she has taught yoga and meditation as a way for people to connect with their body. In their work as a therapist she uses a mind-body approach---meaning traditional talk therapy through a Psychodynamic lens, in addition to a Somatic/Nervous System approach to invite a greater awareness of self, body, and our responses.

Elisabeth believes in normalizing our protective responses as a part of us. Inviting the space to understand our protective responses, over shaming them, or feeling we are only them.

In their therapy practice, Salt City Therapy, Elisabeth specializes in working with both young adults and adults who are experiencing never feeling enough, sometimes resulting in perfectionism, in addition to persons who have or are experiencing: the eating responses spectrum (she is not a fan of the pathologizing language of disorders), body dissatisfaction, attachment trauma, self-harming behaviors, Obsessive Compulsive Responses, and negative self-perception.

Elisabeth is a lover of butter, breve chai lattes, the Utah desert, digging in the garden, riding bikes, swinging on swings, alone time, camping, skiing, swinging in a hammock, summer nights, and reading in a cuddle pile with their two dogs, and cat.
